Frequently Asked Questions
Directory operation, quote requests, listing claims, sponsored placement and service coverage.
Durham Windows and Doors is an independent directory. Companies are listed with the services they offer and the municipalities they serve. You browse, compare, and then contact a company directly or send a quote request. We do not install windows or doors ourselves.
Tell us about your project, choose which companies should receive it (one company, or up to three matched companies), and give explicit consent to share your details with exactly those businesses. Each business then provides its own estimate and availability.
Use the Claim Your Listing page. We verify that you are authorised to represent the business before granting control — knowing the company’s public phone number or address is not enough on its own.
A Sponsored label means the business has paid for placement. Sponsored listings are always labelled, are kept visually distinct, and payment never buys positive reviews, verification, or an undisclosed recommendation.
Listings cover the eight Durham Region municipalities — Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Clarington, Uxbridge, Scugog and Brock — including communities such as Bowmanville, Courtice, Newcastle, Brooklin, Port Perry, Beaverton, Cannington and Sunderland. A company matches your search when your municipality is in its service coverage, even if it has no storefront there.
No. Searching, comparing, saving companies and requesting quotes are free for homeowners and property managers. Basic business listings are also free.
No. Quote requests never require an account. Accounts exist for business owners who manage listings and enquiries.
Your enquiry goes only to the businesses you select, with your explicit consent. A direct enquiry to one company is never sent to its competitors.
We will tell you plainly that no eligible company matched, rather than claim your request was distributed. You can broaden the service or area, or contact us.
Platform reviews require email verification and are moderated for spam and abuse. Businesses can respond. Email verification confirms an email address — it does not verify that a project took place. See the Review Policy.
Use Report a Listing or Suggest an Edit on the profile. Reports enter a moderation queue; business owners can also claim the listing to correct it directly.
